IP Filter Support for Failover Services with Solaris Cluster 3.2

Guest Author

Corporate blogs are all the rage these days. It seems everywhere I turn, there is another product or company with a blog. Some questions come to mind.
Do they actually read blog comments? Do they respond? Do they follow up and take action? We do.

I posted an entry entitled "Building Quality into Solaris Cluster" and a comment was posted asking about ipfilter support for SC 3.2. We worked with the Engineering team and realigned product testing schedules to run load and functional test cycles with ipfilter. I am proud to announce here that ipfilter is supported for failover services with Solaris Cluster 3.2. Please see my next post for the technical details.

Thanks to Honsing, Venkat, Veera, and Subarna who provided the details of the technical write-up.

That is fantastic news! I'm very pleased to have influenced this decision a little bit and proud to be the loudest Sun advocate at my company; this kind of thing really helps!

    Thank you,
