Intellect Design Arena's CBX performance testing on SPARC M7

Intellect Design Arena Ltd and Oracle Systems Cloud Applications Engineering conducted a joint performance and scalability testing exercise for the Corporate Banking eXchange (CBX) Product from the Intellect Global Transaction Banking (iGTB) Products Stable.

This exercise, carried out on Oracle SPARC T7 systems, achieved superlative results on Concurrent Users, CPU Utilisation and response times. The CBX platform handled amazing volumes with a load of 200,000 customers with over half a million users and 20,000 concurrent users. These user loads accessed a varying mix of simple to highly complex self service corporate banking functions, utilizing 4 Million accounts, with response times of less than 2.5 seconds for even the most complex channel interactions!

The CBX Platform is an integral part of Intellect’s Global Transaction Banking product portfolio and provides a rich set of business self service functionalities (called “Apps”) for corporate banking customers over a Omni-Channel ecosystem, providing seamless access over desktops, laptops and a wide range of mobile platforms. The self service transactions, financial inquiries and analytics offered by CBX are secured and supported by a powerful horizontal engine that provides a highly personalized-role based user experience, fine-grain entitlements, flexible approval workflows and real-time notifications. CBX also seamlessly provides views of live data from underlying product processors by connecting through pre-defined adapters.

All of this means a corporate user gets comprehensive information and insight into their financial portfolios and KPIs to make business decisions faster with the ability to act on them through the integrated and contextual self-service transactions.

 

Performance Testing and Results

The performance tests saw CBX handling and scaling to user volumes of over 20,000 concurrent users and process 1.12 Million channel transactions covering key functional business self service requests across multiple lines of business of Global Transaction Banking, including - Payments, Liquidity, Balance and Transaction Reporting services, Collections, etc

This scale represents over 3 times the typical Concurrent user and transaction volume ask of a Tier 1 Bank. These results emphasize and highlight the platform’s abilities to deliver a highly scalable and high performing omni-channel banking solution that caters to bank’s ever growing customer base and manage their customer’s high demands on digital channel utilization for self service.

The CBX Application was also put through a SOAK test where a 4000 concurrent user load was maintained on the application for 8 hours successfully achieving both resilience and scalability.
