News, tips, partners, and perspectives for the Oracle Solaris operating system

Another Virtual Seminar Coming Soon

I'm writing a short blog to give you a heads up that we'll be doing another Virtual Seminar on Oracle Solaris and SPARC next week on April 21st.

In this seminar Renato, Martin and myself will be giving you an update on where we are with Oracle Solaris and SPARC Systems, plus we'll be giving a deeper dive and demo's on some of the new features and how to use them.

We'll also have a team of folks from Oracle Solaris Engineering ready to answer questions during the seminar, so if you have any questions on the presentations or other Oracle Solaris topics you can ask them and get them answered directly by the experts.

You can register here and join us for the session. The nice thing is that once you're registered you can go back and view it again at a later moment too. Of course the post-event recording won't allow you to ask questions anymore but you can still get to the full seminar.

So, register and spread the news!

We hope to see you there.

    The seminar was fabulous!

There are several features that many of us are waiting for:
    - live migrate a VM in a shared-nothing disk environment, using internal disks (usecase: OpsCenter managing a cluster, shared storage under the Management of the OpsCenter LDom should not be leveraged by the LDom. UseCase: We should be able to D-R the OpsCenter LDom to another physical datacenter, without using shared storage.)
    - KSplice Patching: Solaris 11.4 including KSplice infrastructure, when will we be able to run Solaris 11 without doing a reboot for patching, except maybe once a quarter or once a year?
    - Education: Can we see Solaris 11.4 on a 64bit Raspberry Pi?
