Is there a major change to 32 bit compiles on 11.4?
  • Alan Coopersmith Wednesday, June 3, 2020
David - there is no major change to 32-bit compiles on Solaris 11.4, though you may need to add -m32 to your compiler options to get 32-bit instead of 64-bit, depending on the compiler you use.

Will next SRU support new intel processors (skylake, coffee lake)? Now only works with one cpu core. Thank you i advance. Best regards!
  • Alan Coopersmith Thursday, June 18, 2020
Dragoslav - Support for those processors is already included. Skylake support predates Solaris 11.4 since it is the CPU used in Oracle X7 machines. Coffee Lake support came in
    11.4 SRU 9.

If you are having problems with such CPUs on current Solaris SRU's, you will need to open a service request with Oracle Support.
