Announcing Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU18

Today we are releasing SRU 18 for Oracle Solaris 11.4. It is available via 'pkg update' from the support repository or by downloading the SRU from My Oracle Support Doc ID 2433412.1.

This SRU introduces the following enhancements:

  • New mod_wsgi module for python 3.7
  • Fix for ghostscript can produce bad xref tables error
  • EoIB interfaces go down during SM Master failover
  • Mitigation for CVE-2019-1125: SWAPGS speculative execution bypass for Intel CPUs
  • Updated versions of:
    • Bison has been updated to 3.4.2
    • libusb-1 has been updated to v1.0.23

The following components have also been updated to address security issues:

  • binutils has been updated to 2.33.1
  • sqlite has been updated to version 3.29.0
  • watch has been updated to 3.3.15
  • Node.js has been updated to 8.17.0
  • Apache Tomcat has been updated to 8.5.50
  • Firefox has been updated to 68.4.1esr
  • Thunderbird has been updated to 68.4.1
  • Wireshark has been updated to 2.6.14

    Is there a plan to fix that streams-based pipe performance issue in 11.4 ?

    It looks like that pipes and named pipes (fifos) are 2-3 times slower than in Solaris 11.3.
