As we wrap up Oracle's Focus on Environment initiative for another year, we reflect on the incredible efforts of our global Oracle Volunteering community.

In March and April, Focus on Environment invited employees to roll up their sleeves and be part of the global movement for a healthier Earth.

During the last two months, more than 1,400 Oracle Volunteers took part in over 30 environmentally focused volunteering projects. This included:

  • Joining cleanup events around the world that removed thousands of pounds of plastic and trash from our oceans, beaches, fresh waterways, and parks
  • Making 14,000 seed balls, which will help to restore green spaces across India
  • Learning how to reduce food waste in Latin America and better manage household waste in Asia Pacific
  • Boarding kayaks and paddle boards to remove plastic and trash from the River Thames in the UK
  • Deleting unneeded photos, emails, and documents to reduce CO2 emissions from data storage

Globally, Oracle employees also engaged in Missions, an initiative of Oracle Corporate Citizenship, Sustainability, and Real Estate & Facilities that invites employees to complete sustainability activities at home or in the office and watch their positive collective impact grow.

While our formal Focus on Environment initiative may have wrapped for 2022, Oracle Volunteers will continue to protect the environment all year long, because Earth is our life support system and there is no Planet B.
