Keys with X and kmdb and panics
By smg on Mar 02, 2007
Having two panics within a few moments of each other was a sign to pause and recollect. There was something going on, something strange. Something different. How was it different. Had I , myself, made the difference. It seemed so. An apparent panic in kbtrans_streams_key+d7(). A function found. A place within the function found. +d7 being the place of rest for this panic. So deep into the function, so near the end. Hmm.. The definition sought from s.o.o and found, another find in this short tale. Found it was at a place where streams, translations and keyboards meet.
A short case solved here, case being the word of this moment. Again a find of NEW_ABORT_ABORT1_RECEIVED. Indeed a find, it being the revelation of the cause.
The ability of pasting to terminals (shift+insert> together with kmdb's ability to break (shift+pause) melded with the keyboard layout of this laptop. The insert and pause keys being beside each other.
Being the key pressed wrongly, being the cause of my woe. No longer. Be Pure ! Be Vigilant Be watching those keypresses :)
