Photos and Pixies

An interesting thing is happening (again).
Having a large parade is one thing, recording it in as many ways as
one can imagine is another. I still recall the days when RTE would
have just the odd few fixed cameras watching the Dublin parade and
some sprinkling of others around the country. It didn't make for
pleasurable viewing, the weather not permitting either.
Come to thises modern days and what have ye ? These folks today with
their DSLR technological marvels, while still below par compared to
some cameras (lomo for instance) with cross processing methods. They
do however outnumber the fabled self-wind variety. They do converge
on public events. And they do take decent photos (me being one of them).
One such event soon to happen is the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in
Dublin. With the help of pix.ie these would
be (and those that are) will be descending upon the parade armed with their
mix of plastic, steel and finely crafted glass pieces.
I for one look forward to the results.
The competition helps too I suspect.
