Oracle iPaaS Solution Named Leader in Gartner's 2017 Magic Quadrant Report

Oracle Cloud Platform has been named a Leader in Gartner’s 2017 “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service” report.

Gartner, Inc. is a leading information technology research and advisory company, dedicated to delivering the technology-related insight necessary for clients to make the right decisions. Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is the go-to resource that companies (of all sizes) use for an objective perspective on technology and service markets.

The “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service (iPaas)” report positions iPaaS vendors within one of four quadrants—Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries, and Niche Players—based on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision.

Vendors within the Leaders quadrant (according to Gartner) “have a solid reputation, with notable market presence and a proven track record in enabling multiple integration use cases — often supported by the large global networks of their partners. Their platforms are well-proven and functionally rich, with regular releases to rapidly address this fast-evolving market.”

Evaluation Criteria

Gartner’s “ability to execute” criteria rates a provider’s ability to deliver an iPaaS solution that offers “the expected set of functions, thereby ensuring customers’ integration projects succeed…”

The evaluation process examined each providers’ available services and record in the market for openness, integration developer’s productivity, ease of operation, citizen integrator support, and versatility. In addition, Gartner considered each iPaaS solution’s:

  • Degree of Cloudiness – How extensively cloud features are implemented, such as tenant isolation, resource sharing, elasticity, scaling, and self-service.
  • Enterprise Worthiness – The depth and breadth of support for enterprise requirements, including high availability, disaster recovery, technical support, and secure access.
  • Functional Completeness (Breadth of Offering) – How effectively the provider implements the iPaaS functionality, including core integration capabilities, adapters, data quality, development tools, administration, monitoring and management environment, support for secure communication, governance/API management and more.

Finally, Gartner reviewed each vendors’ plans and initiatives to improve and expand their iPaaS offerings, ensuring what is great today, remains great tomorrow.

Oracle’s iPaaS solution passed all criteria and was named a marketplace leader – applicable for companies of all sizes.
