Patch 16.8 (available soon) introduces a new command line option for the mobile web client in order to assist developers debugging suspected manifest issues following a patch or upgrade. Here's how this looks:
siebel.exe /c uagent.cfg /manifestsafeload
The effect of this switch is to suppress all customer-created manifest records from the application loading sequence, thus enabling a developer or engineer to quickly verify whether a suspected patch issue is related to the content which Oracle has delivered or a result of their custom manifest entries. This feature is only available for mobile web clients.
It's important to note here that, while it's not possible with default application settings to alter seeded manifest content, it's also not impossible to issue SQL statements or modify application config to permit seeded manifest content to be edited. If this has been done, all bets are off and the new safe-load switch will not help you verify whether seeded manifest content is working. If you have a case where you feel you've needed to modify seeded manifest content, please let us know why you felt this was necessary.
