    John- First thank you for sharing this SOD with us.

    Any tentative date that you can share with us on release of IP18? this is for our planning purposes.

    Thank you in advance,
    Rao

    Hey John,

    I have a question regarding "Siebel Composer Evolution".

    In SOD says "all functionality currently in Siebel Tools will be provided in Siebel Web Tools", but doesn't explicitly say nothing about Create/Modify/Apply database schema. Is also included?

    Regards,

    I work with the Ontario Public Service, Ministry of Education. We are currently running SIEBEL 16.13.0.0.

    This version may be compliant with the US 508 Standards (2001). Will the 2018 release be compliant with the Refreshed 508 Standards as published in January, 2017.

    Wow. Huge improvements, thank you for the efforts.
    Will there be any efforts to improve the capability of escript (as a lang it still lacks some features so we get to resort to Java services) and also on the escript editor.
    Email template editor and template controls improvements?

    Hi Rao,

    As usual we have a target for the 1st half of 2018 calendar year.

    Regards, John

    Do you know if the IDE for creating infolets and dashboard requires OBIEE to work with IP2018? or
    in order to calculate/see infolets or dashboards is OBIEE required?

    John - Thanks for SOD

    I can see there are some innovations around product configurator. Are we enhancing how RCOIS work in this release?

    Hi John,

    Please can you let me know on REST Support in IP18. In past IP's, it has been limited. We mainly look forward for REST Inbound and plan of enabling Vanilla API's (used mainly for Channel Integrations) on REST platform.

    Regards,
    Anchal

    @Anchal

    Hi - which previous releases are you referring to by comparison?.

    Since IP 2016, REST is native and since IP 2017, it is supported directly though our new SAI layer. Here's a link to the IP 2017 REST API Guide perhaps you can help to point us directly at what functionality you require.

    Thanks, John

    @Chandru

    Thx - Yes. We have enhanced pre-caching of configurator rules for bundle promotion components in IP 2017 and in Siebel CRM 18. We call that “content based routing. This improves the scalability of bundled promotions.

    @Jose
    This feature is in the roadmap and should be provided in the near future.
  • John Tuesday, April 17, 2018
    @Carlos

    The new dashboards do not require OBIEE to run. There is a new Charts engine for Open UI that uses a super fast database engine for large data sets. So you can use these Charts in Dashboards. You can also include OBIEE charts provided you can render them in Open UI applets of course.
    Thanks,
    John

    @Anbu

    Thx - the eScript editor is something on the near-term roadmap. Debugging script is a bit more complex. Perhaps it might be more advantageous to script in Javascript instead for this exact reason.

    Thanks, John

    It's a pity the SOD is only available to customers with a support contract to MOS.

    doesn't Oracle want to show the world how exciting IP2018 is going to be?
  • John Friday, April 27, 2018
    Hi Mat,
    Only customers with support contracts can download updates, new features and releases (the content of which is defined in our SOD). We do try to communicate our new release features on this public blog as well.
    Thanks
    John

    Is Office 365 Integration part of Siebel IP 2018. If yes pls. provide some detail documents or bookshelf which explains in detail
  • Arun Wednesday, August 8, 2018
    Do we have multi tab options available in Siebel IP 2018 as our agents are looking to open multiple tabs for one Siebel application instance similar to web application.
  • Mohmmedali Somji Friday, August 17, 2018
    Hi John

    Question to your response on the new dashboard ... Doc Id 2426987.1 states that features are not yet Generally Available (GA) for customer
    Any timelines when this will be available .
  • David Monday, October 29, 2018
    Is it possible to have parallel releases in PRD depending on the organization or responsibilities? (e.g Multi-Org company has one year release. Due to some puntual law regulations there is the need to include an extraordinary release to affect only one specific of these organizations while the other ones will still pointing to the MAIN repository).
  • John Bedford Thursday, November 29, 2018
    @Kannan

    Office 365 integration isn't delivered yet, we have a partner Invisible (invisible.io) who already provide a neat, integration solution for that with Outlook. Check it out: https://vimeo.com/288551483

    Will try and provide an update for OOTB Office 365 in the near future.

    Thx, John

    @Mohmmedali

    Thx for the comment re: Dashboards.

    We have already built our new dashboards but they are not released yet because part of the new solution is to have the drag & drop layout editor so its super easy to build these infolet graphical dashboards yourself. We are looking to release the package in a future Update once the whole solution is ready. One of the nice advantages of our new Continuous Release Model :)

    HTH, John

    @David from October 29...

    You cannot have multiple repositories in Production at this time. This is something we are working on for future releases.

    However, you can perform incremental migration--if you have a feature that is ready, you can migrate that without doing another full migration.

    If you post a little bit more about your requirement, I can possibly give more detailed guidance and help.

    Followup to John Bedford Thursday, November 29, 2018 on Office 365.

    It is not the case that Siebel has *no* integration with Office 365. It just depends what you are looking for. Office 365 includes Exchange, web-based versions of Office products, and downloadable desktop versions of Office. As such, there are many things that we support but others we do not.

    I recommend reading the Notes on the Office entry on the Certifications tab on MOS, as this is spelled out in more detail.

    Regards,
    Brian
