Who'll Be the JDeveloper Forum Champ?

Shay Shmeltzer
Director of Product Management - Oracle

Maybe you haven't noticed but in the last couple of days Frank Nimphius and I have been secretly competing on who has the most posts on the JDeveloper Forum on OTN.

I've been holding the first place for about a year now. since Steve Muench got carried away with writing the ADF Developer Guide and gave me the opportunity to take the top spot - mostly by pointing people to chapters in the book he wrote :-).

But Frank (who is our overall forums champion) has been catching up over the last weeks, and today he actually passed me for the first time.

However I'm not giving up so easily. And I managed to pass Frank again while he was taking his kids to sleep. But now he is back again posting - I guess the kids went to sleep.

I guess all these posts got the forum confused.

See this ranking where Frank is leading but I have more posts:

In the meantime if you'll actually look just at the stats for the last month you'll see two new candidates who might one day become the champs of the JDeveloper forum: Ric Smith and John Stegeman who just posted about his forum experience.

I think the only way I can win is if I actually start to post questions which also get counted.

(But then on second thought Frank might actually answer them and get to first place again).

Frank is also going to loose his first place in the Forms forum, but he is harder than everybody else. Even so he looses battles, he is finally the great winner of the global "war" with more than 10,000 posts ;o) (which is simply not human at all!)

Shay - I have it on good authority that Frank gets his kids to post on the forum as well. So the Nimphius family are posting 24x7 ;o)

Frank gives some good advise sometimes. Occasionally his posts seemed like it had an another motive.. NOW i know what it is! :)
