Shay Shmeltzer's Oracle Development Tools Tips

JDeveloper Keyboard ShortCuts and other Tips

Shay Shmeltzer
Director of Product Management - Oracle

Over on OTN Legolas is asking for a list of keyboard shortcuts in JDeveloper.

I guess that since you can customize the list of shortcuts in the preferences window, we never produce and official list.

But I just remembered the JDeveloper T-Shirt we did last year and dig up this image from my email.

So here you go a list of commonly used key-board short-cuts in JDeveloper.

By the way, this is exactly the type of tips I'm going to be covering in the JDeveloper Treasure Hunt presentation at Oracle Develop this year.

While in most of the Oracle Develop presentation you'll learn about the inner working of various technologies such as JSF, EJB, ADF - this presentation is a little different.

What I'm going to try and do is cover a bunch of "hidden features" in JDeveloper that can make your day to day work simpler.

If you are using JDeveloper on a daily basis, I think you'll enjoy this presentation and I'm willing to bet you'll learn at least one new thing.

So don't forget to add it to your schedule in the Oracle Open World schedule builder.

update

I just found out that we have all the shortcuts listed in the online help of JDeveloper google for "jdeveloper keymap" and you'll get here.

Hey Team, Just a query. Don't we have a feature in Jdeveloper where we can annotate and see one particular line of code was written by which developer?

Not clear what you are asking for - you can add comments in the code, or you could use a version management tool such as Git with JDeveloper.
