A New Version of the JDeveloper Discussion Forum
By Shay Shmeltzer-Oracle on Jul 28, 2005
If you haven't notice it before, we got a new version of the Jive software that is used to run the JDeveloper discussion forum on OTN last week.
Check it out here:
We had a few problems in the first couple of days after the migration but now it seems to be going much better.
I frequently visit the JDeveloper Discussion forum on OTN and try to answer questions that I know the answers to. And I think the forum is a powerful utility for anyone who is using JDeveloper, in many cases you can get a fast answer to your question on the forum either from one of the PMs or from another member of the JDeveloper community.
One thing that the forum software don't control is the actual quality of the posts - in many cases people don't give enough info about their problem. So I tried to solve this by posting some guiding rules at the top of the forum - might be worth scanning them fast to see what you can do to help us help you.
One more thing you might want to do is go to your user profile and update it to reflect your real name. Replying to user445675 is much less "fun" then knowing that you are replying to "joe smith". I think having your name up there might help us create more of a community feeling.
Also note that you can format your message by using tags like:
[b], [u], [url="http://oracle.com"] and the [pre] tag for code segments you cut and paste. (don't forget to close the tag with [/pre])
