Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager 4.3 - Full Management Solution for Oracle Linux KVM

Simon Coter
Senior Manager, Oracle Linux and Virtualization Product Management

Today, a video dedicated to the overview of Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager 4.3, capabilities and great things we're doing for Oracle Linux KVM, as our go-forward hypervisor solution.

In the same video, I'm also going to deep-dive into different technical aspects like, hosted-engine, snapshot capabilities and more.

At the end of the Video I'm also going to share further thoughts related to Ksplice, zero downtime security patching for hypervisor, kernel and user-space packages we've at Oracle.

So, let's get to the "Oracle Server Virtualization Value" in a quick 10 minutes video.

    I have two question .
I am running kvm-qemu on OL7.7 will I find the rpm within its epel repo or is it a separte link.
I was also curious to know if this version supported other providers like openstack (as the community version already has).
    thx

    Hi Simon,

I am trying to use OLVM as a manger for Oracle Linux hosts installed on Oracle X7-2 hardware, but i am not able to add host in the manager.

Both Hosts are installed with OEL 7.6. Shall i upgrade the host version?

Please let me know your suggestion.

    Hi Tee,

KVM is supported on Oracle Linux 8 as a standalone hypervisor solution.
OLVM support for Oracle Linux 8 is planned.
    Thanks

    Simon
