In light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we'd like to take a moment to highlight
the inspirational success that Hologic has been achieving in its commitment to
providing women and their families with extraordinarily powerful care. Hologic,
a global medical device company introduced the world's first 3-D Mammography
system, which is able to detect early-stage cancers and reduce false-positive diagnoses compared to traditional 2-D mammogram
diagnoses.This innovative technology helps
patients and their caregivers make better decisions with more accurate information, delivering peace of mind
to women and their families and helping to save lives.
Oracle's Agile Product Lifecycle Management solution provided
an integral application platform to help Hologic get its life-saving technology
to market fast.In this video premiered
during Oracle OpenWorld earlier this month, Dave Rudzinsky, SVP and CIO of
Hologic, discusses how Hologic's mission is supported by an enterprise Agile
PLM platform helping Hologic to launch high quality innovations quickly.Watch the video above, directly on YouTube,

It’s July and as the temperatures rise here in the US, I’m
looking forward to summertime cook-outs, vacations, and sipping a cool beverage
poolside.Summer is my favorite season,
so every Spring I enjoy the anticipation by trying my hand at gardening. But looking in the backyard now, while all my
neighbors’ gardens are flourishing, mine only shows a handful of green tomatoes,
unhealthy squash, and fist-sized watermelons. This happened last year,
too.After all that springtime effort
and investment, this is maddening!
My Fruit &

My garden can be described with one word: meh. My frustration reminds me of the challenges
that product development executives share with us in early meetings – unable to
achieve their expected return, inconsistent product information, can’t produce
the final product on time nor on budget, not sure what caused defects, no way
to tell if a project is bad and needs refocusing or abandoning, and so on.
Growing delicious vegetables from seed takes more than... [Read More]

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to sit down with our
resident expert on Innovation Management, Gayle Hayes.I picked her brain on what’s going on in the world
of product and service innovation and how Oracle is helping.A new phenomenon is sweeping product
development – thanks to an explosion of ideation tools and techniques such as
crowd-sourcing, big data, mashups, customer immersion labs, etc, finding ideas
is not the problem. With so many to
choose from, the biggest questions are now “which
idea?” and subsequently, “how do you translate
the right idea into a profitable product?"
This is precisely the challenge the new Oracle Innovation
Management is designed to address.To

improve return on innovation investments, read the transcript of our discussion

Oracle Unveils Oracle Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Mobile for Agile We're pleased to feature a blog entry by guest author John Kelley, vice president of product value chain strategy, Oracle
There’s no doubt that the workforce is becoming more mobile with every passing day. And while the mobile workforce offers organizations many benefits, it can pose a challenge to effectively managing complex product lifecycle processes.
To address this challenge and enhance decision making and productivity across the entire lifecycle of a product, Oracle today announced Oracle’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Mobile for Agile. Part of Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management, the new mobile application enables users to quickly, easily and securely access PLM data from any location on their iPad and turn it into valuable and actionable insights. Or in other words, say goodbye to approval bottlenecks!
Built on Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) Mobile, the new Oracle PLM Mobile for Agile application supports strategic and operational decision making and also enables partners to quickly and easily develop and expand applications and processes for Agile PLM customers. With access to comprehensive features and capabilities, users can securely review, respond and react to a broad range of Agile PLM Product Management Workflows. This includes default and configured:
PLM change orders and change requests from a range of sources including engineering, manufacturing, packaging and document.
PLM quality issue workflows including customer complaints, field requests and problem reports.
PLM quality management workflows including corrective action and preventative action (CAPA) processes.
PLM supplier quality workflows including Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
In addition, Oracle Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Mobile for Agile enables users to initiate, execute and manage report quality issues and process flows by providing the mobile capabilities needed to:
Input audit findings and issues on-site, with dynamic links to product quality information and status.
Take advantage of cameras within mobile devices to record dynamic views of any findings as supporting evidence.
Initiate related NCR, problem reports, SCAR, and corrective action requests (CAR), during the audit process.
Last but not least, the new release also supports organizations with outsourced manufacturing and process suppliers by enabling them to conduct on-site supplier audits with access to the product record as needed to manage the process, hasten finding resolution and approve certification.
The combination of all the new capabilities makes it easier than ever to securely access and manage PLM data at any time or from any location. To see how Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Mobile can help your organization, please watch the demo video.
Last week Oracle and Kalypso jointly held a webcast showcasing some of the inspiring ways companies leverage Agile Product Lifecycle Management applications as a foundation for comprehensive Enterprise Quality Management. If you happened to miss it, don't fret! The webcast is now available On-Demand.
Why should you watch this webcast?
Product quality is a powerful differentiator: surveys consistently prove it is a top influence in consumer buying decisions. And since technology has made quality ratings so easily accessible to the market, companies are under increasing pressure to ensure the highest possible quality and to resolve issues quickly. But many companies are not fully equipped to manage this dynamic. Is your organization prepared to confidently design quality and compliance into your new products, and quickly access, analyze and resolve problems when they surface anywhere in your value chain? To prevent poor quality from affecting great products, leading brands take a comprehensive approach to managing both supplier and product quality, deploying Product Quality Management (PQM) solutions as a part of their overall Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) roadmap. Please take a moment to watch this On-Demand Product Quality Webcast with speakers Joe Erickson of Oracle and Fred Brown of Kalypso featuring an informative discussion on how Agile PLM and PLM for Process can help your company prepare for and manage your product quality and regulatory requirements.
There's even a special offer included in the webcast... watch it today to find out!
