REDISA Creates Thousands of Jobs and Helps Protect the Environment with Integrated Waste Tire Management Plan

The Recycling and Economic Development Initiative of South Africa (REDISA) is a non-profit organization aiming to develop a sustainable South African tire recycling industry through an integrated waste tire management plan.  By utilizing Oracle's Transportation Management solution, REDISA is able to manage the logistics involved in collecting and aggregating waste tires for delivery to recyclers.  They are also now able measure and minimize the carbon footprint impact for the tire collection process for more than 1,600 pick-up activities per week.

REDISA's CIO, Ian Beaton, had this to say - “Although a new initiative, REDISA is already putting money and food on the table of South African people at the very bottom of the economic food chain. REDISA supports entrepreneurs, creates jobs, and builds a better society. Oracle technology empowers this profound social development and supports public well-being.”
