R2 of SWDP
By sandoz on May 21, 2007
R2 of SWDP ships with a second and improved revision of the REST API/impl. We made quite a lot of changes to the API based on external/internal feedback and thus it is not backwards compatible with the API in R1 of SWDP.
The largest change is that of mapping a URI path hierarchy to
an 'object-model' of resources similar to the manner in which project stapler works (the framework that Hudson is layered on top of). A new example (the Bookstore example) copies the example from stapler and shows how one can apply polymorphism to the POJOs in combination with JSP pages.
To get an idea of the changes, if familiar with R1, I recommend comparing the examples in the two distributions. A good place to start would be the atom server example (which will be the subject of my next blog on this topic).
