Jaroslav Tulach is working on a project called DVB Central
, whose aim is to provide "the simplest way to capture, record, stream or play a DVB-T signal on Linux". This is probably the first project that will use NetBeans platform to provide a server-side application. The advantage of doing this is that you can reuse the netbeans runtime container which is very modular, and it helps you keep your own application modular (besides you save a lot of time & money because you don't have to write code which is already written).
You can learn more about writing modular software from this very good article
written by Jaroslav. It's worth reading - it also explains the other advantages of using NetBeans platform for your applications.
No screenshots this time... this is a server-side application :)
