Star Wars Over Telnet

Try executing following command (supposing you're not behind firewall):

telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

I've seen this as an animated gif, but watching Star Wars over telnet is way more geeky :-)
Comments:

[Trackback] Found a great link off of java.blogs this morning. Someone has taken the time to convert Episode IV of Star Wars into ASCII art, the entire movie, and string those "images" together as a "movie". To watch, telnet to towel.blinkenlights.nl...

Loved the link. Where did you find this as an animated GIF?

So it's a java applet, not an animated gif. See http://www.asciimation.co.nz.

Wow! Very cool. I actually just watched Star Wars today, and it is impressive the level of detail and dialog that is captured in the ascii art. Makes me wonder though; how could someone have _that_ much time on their hands?!?!

People do strange things. You could ask how could somebody have so much time to blog daily... :-)
