Project Matisse Buzz

I did a quick google search for blogs writing about project Matisse (the new GUI builder). The links are here (not a complete list, just top results). Now, explain this to your grandmother - how fast can the news spread through the Internet. The nice thing about it is that it creates converstations and people are not just "dumb listeners" like in case of TV or radio. I wonder what the French and Spanish discussions are about.

Currently, it's the most discussed topic on Javalobby. Some people are asking if Matisse could be used inside IDEA or Eclipse. Interesting idea... but... you know... ;-)
Comments:

I writed a french blog announcing Matisse the 5 June 2005. And If I look at statistics, I had 641 HITS that day. the best HITS I did since creation of my french blog in april. A Very good score for a french blog having NetBeans in the title. Summary of the french discussion:
  • Is it only available for Mustang ?
  • No, it's also running on JDK 1.4.2. and 1.5.0. But It's sure you need an extra JAR therefore. Maybe the NaturalLayout will be integrated into Mustang. Don't know.
  • Can't wait !!
  • We can see in the demo somes concepts that are not available in beta of VS 2005
  • Vincent, can you obtain a working preversion for http://www.developpez.com ?
  • If you want to see it in action, in life, you had to be at NetBeans event of Belgium.
  • I want to touch it.

Yes.

Re: Maybe the NaturalLayout will be integrated into Mustang. Don't know.
There are still discussions going on. I am pesimistic about Mustang, though - we'll see.

Re: I want to touch it.
We will be showing it on the NetBeans day and Java One. We will talk about it. We will answer the questions.
It should be available in dailies after NB day and Java One. If you want to see it earlier, come see us in San Francisco ;-)
