New Dreamer On Board
By Roman Strobl on VIII 24, 2007
NetBeans Dream Team has a new member: Tom Wheeler. I would like to congratulate Tom, he did a lot for NetBeans and especially for NetBeans platform. He certainly deserves to be a member of the Dream Team. To find out more about Tom, read the older interview on netbeans.org or the newer one about Boeing and NetBeans platform.
The initial group of Dream Team members was nominated by Sun but new members are nominated and elected by the group itself - Sun has no votes :) If you are interested in becoming a "Dreamer", you can find out more about the nomination process here. Basically you become a member of Dream Team by behaving like if you were on the team - by evangelizing NetBeans, doing presentations, helping others out, contributing, localizing, etc. The advantages of becoming a "Dreamer" are that you work closely with the most dedicated group of non-Sun developers who really care about NetBeans. You can also get involved in decisions about the future of NetBeans - the feedback of Dream Team is taken extremely seriously and influences the future of the NetBeans project.
