New screencast: Matisse in NetBeans 6.0

I recorded a new screencast which demonstrates many of the new features of "Matisse" GUI Builder in NetBeans 6.0. I can't take much credit, because the demo script was prepared by Matisse developers, so all kudos go to them. All the steps are described in our wiki. You can also join the discussion on Javalobby.

Great Screencast Roumen - Thanks

One thing does drive me nuts though - 'Multiple Tables with foreign keys I could generate the Master/Detail view easily using the 2nd Option'

What second option?

All NetBeans Tutorials/Demos seem to be 'single table' examples....

How can we do a 'real world' Master/Detail setup using 2 or more tables?

The 'Table' Radio Button is greyed out?

Kindest Regards

The master detail option is not greyed out if you have multiple tables with relationships. Basically your database tables need to have some foreign keys and then you can do the master table. Let me know if this helped. Good proposal for the next screencast I guess :)

Thank you so much Rouman

Boy! - Do I feel Dumb....

Foreign Keys - Duh!!

You have made my day...

By the way throughout the screencast I found myself saying 'I didn't know you could do that'

So well done to you and all the team

Kindest Regards

At the risk of boring you Rouman -

I'm been doing Master/Detail UI's (on a MySQL 30 Table Database) like a madman all night...

All works as advertised - Matisse is a world beater - Thanks Again

Great demo Roman. I have been using Matisse for the past year and it seems I hardly know it.

Is it just me, or does this demo go a bit too fast to be an optimal learning experience? The pointer arrow moves so fast that I'm having trouble seeing where you are clicking, so I have to pause and rewind to actually get some of the steps you're taking. I got the big picture, but I'd appreciate it if the pace was slower next time, so that I can get all the juicy details as well...

The demo is intentionally fast, so that even developers who have little time watch it till the end. I could do the same demo in 20 minutes with more explanation. I may slow down my next demo a bit, but many people don't have lots of time to watch these. So it is always a dilemma. The best way to go through all the details is to go through the steps described here yourself:
