NetBeans in Greece and in Greek
By Roman Strobl on XII 03, 2006
Greetings from Greece, me and Geertjan visited the Hellenic Java User Group and presented about the NetBeans IDE and platform. Local JUG leaders, Paris and Panos were amazingly hospital - we had the opportunity to taste a lot of local food, wine and of course, ouzo (how's your head, Geertjan? :).
Me, Paris and Panos
Some people asked me after my presentation how did I localize my demo Swing application into Greek. I found a flash demo which shows how to do that, you can follow the steps to localize your application. So yes, Matisse (NetBeans GUI builder) can also speak Greek:
I am not sure if my Greek is correct though...
I am heading home now, I visited 5 different cities in last 7 days (Cagliari, Rome, Ostrava, Wroclaw and Athens), something I call the "extreme evangelism". I really enjoy travelling and spreading the word (and partying with developers, too :) If you are from a JUG, university, or any other Java-related group and want to know more about NetBeans, feel free to drop me an e-mail and I'll see if I can visit you and show some cool demos of NetBeans!
