Higgins on RollerWebLogger

No. This is not the long tailed Mouse "Higgins" you may be thinking about.

I just could not resist posting this: Bill Higgins from IBM just blogged about IBM developerWorks community changing their backend weblog engine over to rollerweblogger, the same engine that powers blogs.sun.com.

Browse HAPPY

I just logged into Kim's blog (www.identityblog.com) using a InfoCard and was redirected to his Blog Admin page.

What was interesting was that at the bottom of the blog admin page was a link to browsehappy.com.

The first page of browsehappy.com has text that reads as : "Internet Explorer can make your computer unsafe. Why not switch to a browser that's more secure?".

I read that and thought.... {{{nothing}}} I Know, I Know, browsehappy.com and wordpress are interlinked...

ALSO: I sent an infocard with Kim's own FirstName, LastName and email address (because from Kim's infocard invoker code, I saw that the only info he requested from an infocard was just the firstname, lastname and email address) and was able to login with that infocard too. However either with my own infocard or with a FAKE infocard with Kim's own info, I could not do much on the site. But the point is that regardless of the authenticity of the user, a "user" was provisioned on his blog.

QUESTION: what if millions of users or a BOT did that?. Would Kim "provision" all of them on his local DB ??

Tasteless Joke: InfoCard can be good business for the storage folks.

PS: I HAD to use Internet Explorer 7 to be able to use infocard. No Standard Web browser would work. (at least for now)
Interesting aye !! ;-)

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody

A bell is no bell 'til you ring it,
A song is no song 'til you sing it,
And love in your heart
Wasn't put there to stay -
Love isn't love
'Til you give it away.

Dell DOES run on SOLARIS 9

Mary just pointed us all to the fact that DELL, does run on Solaris 9, after this nice peice of investigative journalism by Ashlee Vance.

And then I read this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this and thought to myself... even after dell had to go through this, why are they now using this as a retort ?

But Dell says the real feeling of luxury will come from its customer service. Buyers of the XPS laptops will be connected with a customer service representative within five minutes of calling, about half the time that regular Dell customers wait.
is this for real ? Where there's smoke there sure is fire Mary...
Someone should have also pointed out that Sun Trunking is also out, and hey ! it's free !!
And more importantly, being Being Good Enough, Just Got A Lot Better.. right ?

A "centrist" me ??

Thanks to Pat for pointing me to The Politics Test on Ok Cupid.

You are a

Social Conservative
(36% permissive)

and an...

Economic Moderate
(41% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Centrist

Link: The Politics Test on OkCupid
I am described as a "centrist". I wonder if it's good or bad, It didnt sound too good. I always thought that I was more of hybrid version of a "democrat/libertarian"; until this test result put me up as a "centrist" and somewhere on the close boderline between "republican" and "totalitarian". emm.. Guess thats bad... Guess I'll never know... (If my ideologies get worse, I'd probably be dangling between Darth Vader and Bin Laden, and I'd have to work my butt off to get anywhere close to Donald Trump ;-) )

But what put a smile on my face was the following:

If this is what a "centrist" means I LOVE IT !!

I wonder if these tests have any relevance to the "real", but who cares, it's fun ;-)

Intelligent Design challenge

Boing Boing's $250,000 Intelligent Design challenge has rasided it's stake to $1Million. I wondered what this challenge was all about, and what was considered "intelligent" about it, only to realise that it was a growing popularity of Pastafarianism, a new religion that worships Flying Spaghetti Monster, initially created to protest the Kansas State School Board's decision to teach "Intelligent Design" in schools.

We are willing to pay any individual \*$250,000 if they can produce empirical evidence which proves that Jesus is not the son of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
