The Wonders of ZFS Storage
Performance for your Data

Let's talk about Lun Alignment for 3 minutes

Recall that I had Lun alignment on my mind a few weeks ago. Nothing special about the ZFS storage appliance over any other storage. Pay attention to how you partition your luns, it can have a great impact on performance. Right Roch ? :

Just curious, on the host side, isn't this also an issue with how the disk label is created and how many bytes it consumes? If the label is not an 8k multiple, like an EFI label used by default when you give ZFS a whole lun, then wouldn't the ZFS data start at an unaligned boundary?
