Links for 11th January 2007

It's been a while since I've done one of these. I've collected several links over the Christmas/New Year period. Time to clear them out. Expect a couple more similar posts in the next few days.

  • PhotoStamps - Real Postage. Really You.
We were going to do this for Duncan for Christmas, then totally forgot about it. Sorry, U.S. postage only. (Thanks Linda).

  • Gelaskins - Home of the best iPod skins on the planet.
I'm trying to persuade my wife to get one (or more) of these for her iPod. I see there are also skins for your Powerbook. Maybe I'll be tempted. (Thanks Liz).

  • A Periodic Table of Visualization Methods
What I also found interesting here was the actual technology used to do the layering. Hopefully I'll be able to use this to improve my tag cloud.

    (Thanks Tony and stephen)

  • The new iPhone
As announced at Steve Job's keynote.

There are only four things stopping me buying one of these right away:

    • The price. I realize it's more than "just a phone", but it's still steep.

    • Not my carrier. I think that'll change in a little while as other phone manufacturers realize the competition they are up against.

    • Not wanting to buy v1.0 of any new technology. There are probably still a few bugs to be ironed out.

    • It's not available until June 2007 here in the U.S.

Some of the alternative designs are interesting too. All of them much better than the new Microsoft Zune Phone.
