Oracle Retail Merchandising System On-Premises Documentation for Release 16.0

Randy Kapelke
Director, Global Content

Release 16.0 of the Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) represents the system’s migration to a modern platform based on Oracle’s Application Development Framework (ADF), which leverages role-based dashboards, notifications, and embedded contextual business intelligence. The End User Documentation reflects this enhancement.

Documentation highlights include:

RMS User Guide

In Release 16.0, the RMS User Guide has been entirely rewritten to reflect the new business flows associated with Oracle’s Application Development Framework (ADF). The document also reflects the functional enhancements that were part of Release 16.0.

RMS Operations Guide

The Operations Guide provides support for integrated role-based dashboards, which are a key part of the ADF platform. For example, the Inventory Analyst Dashboard allows an analyst to focus on his or her primary responsibilities, eliminating the need to leverage custom reports and search for inventory issues. Exceptions are surfaced and prioritized, so the analyst can resolve issues directly from the dashboard, or launch into a specific task flow screen from the Dashboard.
Chapters were added to Volume 3 of the Operations Guide to address extendable features enabled by the ADF Framework.
A key update in Volume 2 is the inclusion of Bulk Data Integration Batch Designs, to support the Oracle Commerce Retail Extension Module.
RMS Custom Flex Attribute Solution Implementation Guide

The CFAS framework has been extended to support new functional areas, and this enhancement has been documented..
