At Big Switch Networks, we are taking key hyperscale data center networking design principles and applying them to fit-for-purpose products for enterprises, cloud providers and service providers. Our Open SDN Fabric products built using bare metal switching hardware and centralized controller software, deliver the simplicity and agility required to run a modern a data center network. Through seamless integration and automation with VMware (vSphere/NSX) and OpenStack cloud management platforms, virtualization and networking teams are now able to achieve 10X operational efficiencies compared to the legacy operating models.
In addition to product innovation, we are also very focused on enabling our customers and partners to learn about the latest technology advances in the networking/SDN industry and make informed decisions without a ton of time-investment. Towards that end, Ravello Systems has been a great partner; enabling us to achieve that goal through Big Switch Labs – an online portal that lets you try VMware or OpenStack Networking real-time, on-demand and for Free!
For the past few months Big Switch Networks has employed Ravello Systems platform to run demos of the Big Cloud Fabric integration with VMware vCenter and OpenStack, exposed through Big Switch Labs. The unique nested virtualization capabilities of Ravello Systems allows us to provision, within few minutes, complete VMware vCenter/ESX and OpenStack demo environments in the public clouds AWS and Google Cloud . The demos are provisioned from blueprints, the term Ravello uses to describe a snapshot of an entire multi virtual machine (VM) application, along with the full specification of the network that interconnects the set of VMs.
To experience modern, highly automated data center networking, check out the following, on-demand modules on Big Switch Labs. These modules include access to the production-grade Cloud Management software, Big Cloud Fabric Controller as well as the simulated physical networking topology:
I invite you to sign-up and experience the simplicity of managing, provisioning and troubleshooting data center networks in minutes. And yes, its available now and its free!
