CSS is evil (not really)
By Chris Quenelle on Apr 12, 2005
Editing a web page and figuring out what the browser was doing used to be easy. Now it's hard. I spent a few hours trying to customize my BlogRoller theme, without much luck. I really wanted to extend the CSS that was already in the theme, but I couldn't. I ended up using lots of trial and error before I gave up and and just splatted some HTML in my main "Weblog" page. But it was worth it, now I have pics of some of my favorite comics at the top of my page. The next step is to try using the BlogRoller #include macro so I can create the entire banner offline and upload all the files in one batch. Maybe I should look into those CSS wizard plugins for firefox? I just converted my RSS feeds from BlogLines (web-based viewer) to Sage (firefox extension). I figured moving away from a web-based solution was okay because I don't really read my feeds at work anyway. Unfortunately that means I don't stay up to date with any Sun internal blogs, but that's the way the browser cookie crumbles. (groan) More later.
