Today, more than ever, our state and local agencies as well as federal and government customers are turning to technology to support their constituents. Higher education institutions are also looking for ways to keep students engaged and informed. Whether it’s a chatbot to aid in addressing questions at State University of New York, a single digital pay system for the Army National Guard or a COVID-19 testing management platform, government and higher education customers are turning to Oracle.
To support growing customer demand in our federal, state and local and higher education business, I’m pleased to announce Pat Mungovan as Senior Vice President for North America Public Sector sales, effective immediately. Pat’s experience in the industry, along with Oracle’s government solution portfolio, which has achieved FedRAMP High authorization, puts us in a great position to help our government and higher education customers on their journey to the cloud.
Before this appointment, Pat led Oracle’s North America Cloud strategy and business development group. In this capacity, his team identified, developed, and executed a modern portfolio of integrated programs spanning Oracle’s entire tech cloud business. Pat has also led our Higher Education technology group where he used his wide-ranging expertise to solve tough technology issues for every type of institution. For community colleges, Pat was an advocate of instituting systems that would help a diverse student body become successful in an environment where many of the students were the first in their family to attend college. And, for our large research institutions, Pat’s knowledge and expertise in high performance computing systems have laid the foundation for the kind of ground-breaking research so desperately needed today.
Oracle has been a long-standing strategic technology partner of the U.S. government. Today, more than 1,000 public sector organizations globally use Oracle technology. I look forward to more federal, state and local government customers as well as K-12 and higher education entities using Oracle to modernize their technology and meet increasing productivity and performance goals under Pat’s leadership.
