How does a fashion company scale personal shopping for the mass market? By pairing savvy stylists with smart algorithms and cloud technology, online styling company Stitch Fix has successfully sent subscribers millions of personalized clothes and accessories. Algorithms help determine a client’s true preferences and sizes—and help the company create products missing from the market. “We want to use the technology to automate the mundane and create the space for our human talent to be business strategists,” says Jessica Ross, vice president and controller of Stitch Fix.
