Being both an Oracle partner and an adopter of Oracle technology gives the Hitachi Consulting Corp. Personal quote/mantra: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” —Margaret Mead

This experience only confirms what HCC consultants have known all along—even the most-innovative technology supports rather than brings about business transformation. Change agents must also devise an effective change-management strategy that meets their organization’s unique needs. “Make sure you have clear objectives and guiding principles at the start,” says Sona Manzo, vice president of the Oracle HCM Cloud practice at HCC. “Then identify individuals who must be involved as subject matter experts, as well as those who can communicate project goals to their peers. Establishment of these change champions is a key attribute of our change management methodology that is interwoven into our implementation process.”

With these crucial technology and personnel components in place, HCC is eyeing new transformation opportunities in the HR department and beyond. “We’re currently evaluating how to best use Oracle HCM Cloud’s built-in talent- and performance-management capabilities,” says Matt Revell, director of service delivery at HCC. “They can help ensure that the top performers and those with the highest potential are the ones we’re retaining and investing in.” They are also looking to modernize existing programs that help support a cultural emphasis on volunteerism through adoption of innovative new capabilities in the Oracle HCM Cloud My Volunteering solution.

Chris Buri, vice president and CIO at HCC, sees a solid foundation in place for additional cloud services throughout the company. “What’s proving to be strategic for us now, and will be even more so down the road, is how Oracle Cloud’s single global instance supports all Oracle cloud applications,” he says. “For us, that means we have one central accounts database, and those accounts can then support all of the Oracle applications we may ever add to our organization.”
