Oracle OpenWorld 2016, which took place in San Francisco, California, September 18–22, marked the 20th anniversary of the conference that brings together top technologists and innovators to discuss the future of technology. During those two decades, the conference has had a significant, measureable impact on the vitality of the San Francisco Bay Area—adding billions of dollars to the local economy and diverting (literally) tons of material and waste away from the landfill and toward local charities. The goal? To continue to showcase the unique culture and vibrancy of San Francisco to all attendees and make Oracle OpenWorld a “zero-waste to landfill” event by 2018.
