ALERT! WebCenter Content, Release 184.108.40.206 and an Important Patch!
By Ken Walker-Oracle on Sep 09, 2013
Remember when big-screen plasma TVs were first introduced? Some folks just couldn't wait to spend the money to pick one up, even though most of those TVs had a row of blown-out pixels or other problems. Those TVs were far from perfect, but many people wanted them anyway and they didn't care what the cost was to get one. Thank goodness for those brave "TV Pioneers" because they pave the way for further research and development. Not very long after the first plasma TVs came out, more affordable LCD, LED, and smaller sized flat screen TVs were introduced and they didn't have blown pixels or other problems with stability and picture quality. They were also more affordable for the people who couldn't afford to jump into the new "TV Pool" early.
WebCenter Content release 220.127.116.11 brings a lot of new technology to the table. This release contains support for Mobile Devices as well as a new User Interface. If you're an "early adopter," we encourage you to jump right in and download it, it is available here. Be advised, however, that there has already been one ARU Patch released for this version, found here, and it is required! It fixes some issues that can cause instability and corruption under certain circumstances. More patches will come during regularly scheduled maintenance intervals, so if you're the type who likes to wait for the "plasma to settle" (so to speak), you might want to keep an eye out for those.
If you have any question about this required initial patch, please reference KM Note 1581671.1, or open an SR with Oracle Support and they can help to make sure you get it installed properly.
