OBIEE SampleApp V305 (11.1.1.7) Now Available

 The OBI team have announced the availability of OBIEE SampleAppv305 virtual box appliance from Oracle Technology Network (OTN).

This appliance provides a collection of OBIEE examples demonstrating capabilities of OBIEE 11.1.1.7 and design best practices.

Visit Oracle BI TechDemo on the YouTube channel for selected viewlets specific to OBIEE 11.1.1.7 functionality and the SampleAppv35 virtual appliance.  Playlist includes "SampleApp Tours" & "SampleApp Deploy and Configuration".

Availability on OTN makes SampleAppv305 open to field users, partners, prospects and customers.  This provides any ideal avenue for reproducing any problem being encountered, to easily provide a test case to Oracle Support.

Please now use the latest SampleApp V309 R2.

Do the sample scripts like runchecker work on SSO environments. I am running them and they do not work. Would be a great utility to add to the Admin of the web catalogs.

Hi

I downloaded and installed the Sample App and have been trying to get the 'Launch the EPM Workspace' link to work on Dashboard tab '3.7 EPM Integration'. I tried using your demo link at http://slc02ojq.oracle.com:7780/analytics/saw.dll?dashboard&PortalPath=%2Fshared%2F3.%20Analysis%20and%20Dashboards%2F_portal%2F3.70%20EPM%20Integration
and noticed it doesn't work either. I tried IE, Chrome and Firefox...any ideas?

Tried to download the V305 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/obiee-samples-167534.html ... ZIP parts 001-004 hang at 104MB, regardless of browser, machine, OS (Mac, Win7Pro, Linux OEL64) I try.

This is usually an indication the edge copy is corrupt.

I commented earlier about a problem downloading.

It appears my ISP's firewall has a problem with files > 4GB.

Essbase Writeback reports are not working in sample app.
It throws an error "Not able to login to Essbase".Can you please help rectify.

I've searched the knowledge base on the error, but nothing was returned to match your problem.
I think this will require more in-depth analysis than can be provided over a blog. So I suggest you either post this question to the communities (https://community.oracle.com/community/support/business_intelligence/obiee), or log a service request with Oracle Support.

Firstly I am not able to access the demo URl from the Link provided in this Page.
And I am really trying a way to write back on a essbase database.Also understand that it can be done with the Action Link framework So can you please help me getting the browser script used in the essbase integration reports in the sample app. Path from where you can find is MW\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\silp1v\war\res\b_mozilla\actions

Can I ask that you now use the latest version of SampleApp V309 R2 which we announced last October: https://blogs.oracle.com/proactivesupportEPM/entry/obiee_11_1_1_73. Have have verified all the links in that announcement work.

Hi Lia,
I am trying to access the link provided. ButI m still not able to access.
Actuaaly I have tried to implement write back on essbase as told in sample app. but when I run the action link it says "Failed".
Any hints will be really helpfull.

Hello Paul,
Thanks for the reply.
Now I am able to access the dashboard.But When I navigate to Essbase Integration and Write back report.it throws an error "Essbase Error: Login failed. Please check if server and port are correct. If you received timeout or handshake failure, please check if you tried to connect to secure port without secure keyword or clear port with secure keyword".Can you please help start the essbase servers.

Please ensure the install steps were completed as outlined in Deployment Guide. In addition start-up details are also referenced in both Deployment and User Guide. These documents are both available at the OTN download page.

Following on from Paul's comments, I've seen this error when the machine name could not be resolved. Try using the IP address instead.
