Do you know ...
If you ask me for a single address to bookmark to get the most out of Oracle Proactive Support Services, the first one I would suggest is note :
This document stands upon three pillars: Prevent, Resolve and Upgrade. Let's take a brief look at each of them :
Prevent : One of the top priorities of Proactive Support Services is to assist the customers to drive their business smoothly. Proactive Support gives guidance to improve health and availability of their business by acting in advance rather than reacting and working on incidents. The most effective methods are:
- Apply the latest patchsets
- Revise the current setup and configuration parameters and suggest necessary changes.
Oracle Proactive Support Services utilizes many different information channels including the most popular social media channels for announcements.
You can find details and more information in the Prevent section of Note:1388293.1
Resolve : We would certainly like to avoid any problem before it occurs, but this may not be possible all the time and there may be occasions where you need to work on issues reactively. In such occasions quick and correct diagnostics of the problem is the most important step through to resolution. Proactive Support Services assist you with powerful and efficient diagnostics tools and methods. The Resolve area includes some of the most useful diagnostics tools (including RDA), and links to MOS Communities and the Information Centers.
If you haven’t experienced the power and joy of MOS Communities yet, I invite you to experience it now! To visit the MOS Communities, don’t wait until you have a problem. By using the MOS Communities, you can exchange ideas with professionals from all around the globe and can experience the delight of helping other people together with Oracle Support Services and Development teams. Develop a habit of regular visits to MOS Communities, you won't be disappointed!
You can find details and more information in the Resolve section of Note:1388293.1
Upgrade : All system administrators know: Upgrade and migration projects can be complex and are typically business critical. That is why they require such a lot of care and knowledge. Due to its importance, the Upgrade topic is honored with a complete section of its own in the Get Proactive document. It doesn’t matter whether you are migrating to a brand new version or upgrading to a patchset, the starting point would be to check the certification information first. There are also other documents guiding you through the process. The Patching and Maintenance and Install and Configure advisors are created just for this.
You can find details and more information in the Upgrade section of Note:1388293.1.
NOW is just the right time to go and bookmark Note:1388293.1. I can assure you that a very big team is putting efforts and energy together in this document to make your proactive experience a complete success!
