The PeopleSoft user interface went through a dramatic transformation when we moved to the Fluid UI. This completely transformed PeopleSoft's look and feel as well as the way users interact with and navigate throughout their PeopleSoft applications. Fluid also enabled us to provide a UI that worked across form factors from phone to desktop. The Fluid UI has been updated and improved with each release since its introduction in PeopleTools 8.54, and now with recent releases, new and exciting changes are taking place.
First of all, there are entirely new methods of interacting with PeopleSoft applications now. Perhaps most notable among them is the introduction of Chatbots. Using chatbots, PeopleSoft applications now enable users to interact with PeopleSoft through natural, conversational interactions using voice or text. Chatbots are always available, and they provide automated and guided user transactions through an easy and intuitive interface. Chatbots automate repetitive tasks while reducing costs for support, training, and documentation. You can use chatbots with any device like laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Some chatbots have already been delivered by PeopleSoft application teams, and customers can modify those or create their own. More are on the way. For more information on chatbots with PeopleSoft see our info portal at peoplesoftinfo.com

The Fluid style sheet has been updated with Tools 8.58 to provide a more contemporary look. Much has changed including new colors, widget designs, icons, effects, and headers. These changes encompass almost all aspects of the appearance of fluid homepages, dashboards, components, and pages. These style changes also apply to Classic Plus components to maintain a consistent appearance across your PeopleSoft system.
New Fluid Styles apply everywhere
Note that this style change doesn't result in any change to the way applications behave, so customers don't have to train or update their users to use the new styles.
Notifications are important because they enable you to prompt users to action for important events or when significant business rules have been violated. In many cases, users don't even have to be in PeopleSoft applications to be notified about a condition that requires their attention. Users can choose the means by which they are notified: Push, email, or Text.
In addition, the way notifications are configured and managed has been standardized, and the personalization of notifications by users is simpler and more flexible.
Configuring and Personalizing Notifications
Guided processes (sometimes called Wizards) are beneficial because they guide users through complex or infrequently performed tasks. This improves user performance and productivity, increases accuracy and completion rates, reduces the need for documentation and training, and reduces the load on your Support staff. Numerous guided processes are delivered with PeopleSoft application images, and more are planned. Customers can also create their own to cover their unique processes. Activity guides can even be configured to support multiple users and multiple languages.

Search is the preferred means of finding content on the Web. It is also becoming a more prominent means of navigation and locating information in enterprise applications like PeopleSoft. Search can be used in PeopleSoft to navigate to pages rather than using menus or tiles, and it can be used to locate content like People (Employees, Customers, Suppliers), Jobs, Assets, Purchase Orders and so on. Users can locate information using Search and act on that information from the Search results page.
Using Global Search
One strength of PeopleSoft applications is the ability to configure the user interface to align with your business and meet unique requirements. This is even easier today with Fluid and the array of features supporting configuration. It's easy, for example, to create your own Homepages and Dashboards, your own tiles, related information, and Navigation Collections--all without coding. For more information on the myriad of configuration options, see the Configuration page on peoplesoftinfo.com.
Consider all the configuration and personalization options open to your enterprise and users
We're not resting with Fluid in its current state. We plan to continue to enhance and improve the PeopleSoft UI well into the future. This will include improvements in Fluid as well as the integration with emerging technologies like Chatbots, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and more.
