Announcing PeopleSoft HTML Email Approvals for HCM

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide enhancements for customers on existing releases,  a new capability for approvers in PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 is now available. The PeopleSoft Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) enables you to take action on approval requests directly from an email (for example: approve, deny, pushback, enter comments, or other AWE actions). There is no need for the approver to log into PIA to approve a request, they can take action and add comments directly from the email.

The HTML Email Approval feature delivers HTML email templates for some of the key PeopleSoft HCM Talent Management transactions including:

  • Job Opening
  • Job Offer
  • Absence Request
  • Extended Absence Request
  • Promote Employee
  • Transfer Employee
  • Reporting Change
  • Performance Document

Working with Requests

When a requestor submits a transaction for approval, an email is generated and sent to the approver(s), which contains detailed information about the transaction request. Based on the transaction’s configured actions, an approver can take action directly from the email by clicking a link, such as Approve, Deny, or Pushback, to generate a reply to the request. The email may display requestor comments and, if applicable, view approval history from other approvers. In addition to this, if further details or information is needed, the email also provides a link that will take the approver to the PIA approval component for that transaction.

PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry now available in FSCM

Oracle is pleased to announce the release of PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry, part of the PeopleSoft Expenses application, which is now generally available in PeopleSoft FSCM 9.1.

PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry provides the ability to enter time sheets quickly and easily for project-based resources on the go. The contemporary, streamlined user interface is optimized for mobile devices (that support HTML5), such as tablets and smartphones. It provides a simple-to-use tool for capturing and submitting both project-based time and non-project time, such as vacation and training. Time reporters can even adjust their timesheets for prior periods, managers can approve timesheets, and more.

Now your project resources, whether they are traveling consultants, field technicians, or anyone else booking time to projects and activities, can enter time right from their phone. Giving users the ability to record time when and where they are actually expending their effort can not only increase the accuracy of the time reports, but also accelerate the process of converting time into cash for your enterprise. The faster and more accurately time is captured, the sooner your organization can account for it and invoice for it, and that can lead to better cash flow, more up-to-date information on project progress, and better decision making.

Combining PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry with PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses and Mobile Approvals, the PeopleSoft Mobile Applications suite expands its ability to accelerate time and expense capture and increase data accuracy. With the new Mobile capabilities, travelers can increase efficiency by recording their time and expense when they are incurred rather than waiting until arriving back home or to the office.

For more information, please watch the PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry Video Feature Overview (VFO) available on YouTube or contact your application sales representative.

The PeopleSoft Mobile Time Entry 9.1 documentation update is available under MOS Document ID 1583166.1.

Oracle Consulting North America is now live on PeopleSoft Services Procurement and PeopleSoft Resource Management

Last month, Oracle's own internal consulting group (OCS North America) went live on PeopleSoft Services Procurement and PeopleSoft Resource Management to manage all aspects of identifying, recruiting, and deploying billable subcontractors on North America Applications customer consulting projects. The primary goals were to enhance the subcontractor staffing process, improve operational and informational processes, and improve collaboration between the Oracle NA Consulting Subcontractor Program and subcontractor suppliers.

Over 200 registered external suppliers access the tool, review open needs and competitively bid their resources to work on NA Applications projects.

This implementation highlights the usage of Oracle’s own solutions to streamline and enhance business operations, as the PeopleSoft 9.1 applications (Services Procurement and Resource Management) were deployed using Sun hardware, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Oracle Virtual Machines.

PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses and Mobile Approvals now available in FSCM 9.1

Oracle is pleased to announce the release of two new applications, PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses and PeopleSoft Mobile Approvals, which are now generally available in PeopleSoft FSCM 9.1. These are the first two of many upcoming applications designed and built to cater directly to the mobile workforce by providing user-friendly access to key business functions on a smartphone or tablet.

Enter and Submit Expenses Anytime, Anywhere

PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses provides the ability to enter employee expense reports quickly and easily, for busy travelers on the go. The contemporary, streamlined user interface is optimized for mobile devices (that support HTML 5), such as tablets or smartphones, and provides a simple-to-use tool for capturing expenses as they are being incurred, submitting expense reports while waiting at the airport, approving your employees’ expense reports, and more. And since it is part of the PeopleSoft Mobile Applications suite, you don’t have to wait until you return home or to the office, which can lead to improved efficiencies.

The user interface and gesture actions (for example, swipe, touch, and so on) will be immediately familiar to mobile device users, and is specifically targeted to keep the experience as streamlined as possible for just the tasks you need to get to while on the go. In addition, PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses leverages all of the powerful expense policy compliance tools delivered by PeopleSoft Expenses, contributing to reduced spend and increased efficiency throughout your organization.

PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses is integrated directly with PeopleSoft Mobile Approvals, so managers can quickly approve submitted expense reports in addition to entering or reviewing their own expenses.

Manage Approvals Anytime, Anywhere

PeopleSoft Mobile Approvals improves productivity and keeps business moving forward when your users are on the go without comprising business imperatives and operational policies. This innovative solution is delivered using the latest HTML 5 technology to allow customers to manage their critical tasks anytime through any device. PeopleSoft Approvals enables your users to approve transactions through the desktop, smart phones or tablet devices. This will speed up the approval process thus avoiding potential late payment penalties and supports early payment discounts for invoices.

CRM Services Operational Dashboards Deliver Actionable Service Insight

In order to deliver superior service to your customers, your contact center managers and agents need access to critical service information that is accurate up to the minute. You should be able to take the real-time pulse of your service operations with accurate CRM service data and take appropriate actions to deliver quality service to your customers. Based on PeopleTools’ latest Chart Object technology, the new Services Operational Dashboards are collections of pagelets that are built to provide real-time actionable information for contact center managers and agents. Users can drill down into data, slice and dice the data based on different data dimensions to gain greater insight into service cases and customers that require immediate action. Without the cost of expensive ETL integration or a data warehouse, these dashboards are designed to increase agent efficiency, offer insight on customer needs and provide contact center staff the tools needed to better serve the customer base.

The new Services Operational Dashboard delivers two role-specific dashboards for contact centers:

Manager Dashboard

The Manager Dashboard displays operational data for cases that are assigned to provider groups Provider groups can be associated with the manager via pagelet personalization pages of the manager user, and the manager-provider group relationship is established on the Provider Groups page. The Manager Dashboard includes these pagelets:

  • Cases at Risk of Exceeding SLA (Service Level Agreement)
  • Manager Case Backlog
  • Case Arrivals versus Closures
  • Top Solutions by Product
  • Top Solutions by Library
  • Top Solutions by Category

Agent Dashboard

The Agent Dashboard displays information of all open cases that are assigned to the agent. It includes these pagelets:

  • My Case Backlog
  • My Open Case SLA Status
  • Agent - My Cases
  • Top Solutions by Product
  • Top Solutions by Library
  • Top Solutions by Category

Each dashboard consists of pagelets that display contact center data relevant to users of that role.

Interactive charts in these dashboards provide mouse hover-over texts, showing the number of cases with the status or priority that the chart object represents. The user can click these chart objects to drill into bars and links to see additional information about cases and solutions for better insight on customers that require immediate actions based on real-time transactional service data.

Manager Case Backlog Details Drilled Down from the Manager Case Backlog Pagelet

Delivered pagelets are WSRP (Web Services for Remote Portlets) compliant so they can be easily consumed and used in any WSRP-compliant portal such as Web Center, and can be easily rearranged on dashboards by dragging and dropping the pagelets to the desired areas, or by clicking the Layout link on the PIA homepage to personalize the dashboard’s layout.

Solutions-specific pagelets are built in the form of grids. They show basic information such as solution summary, usage counts and the number of times they are used to solve cases. For each solution-specific pagelet, you can easily slice the solution information in a different dimension with filter criteria such as product, solution library, and category.

This feature is currently available through Oracle Support via the Product Update ID 874512. To learn more, please refer to the PeopleSoft CRM 9.1 Services Operational Dashboard PeopleBook Documentation Update.

Manager Dashboard

These new capabilities have the potential to significantly impact an organization’s bottom line, and here is why.

Increased Efficiency

The Manager Dashboard provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for your Managers with all of the key data they need consolidated into a single view. Alerts notifying managers of important tasks are immediately viewable and actionable. Administrators can configure the dashboard to include the most important pagelets needed for their organization, and Managers can personalize it to fit within their personal way of conducting their tasks. The Related Actions feature further improves the ease with which Managers get their work done by providing one-click access to Manager Self Service transactions.

Increased Job Satisfaction

The streamlined Manager transactions, related actions, and the new Manager Dashboard provide an enhanced user experience. Managers are able to quickly get in, get the information they need, complete their transactions, and get out. Managers can spend their time focusing on getting the business results they need instead of their day to day HR tasks.

Enhanced Decision Support

Administrators can ensure the information and analytics they want their Managers to use are available from the Manager Dashboard, establishing best business practices. Additional pivot grids relevant to your own organization can be added to the Manager Dashboard. With this easy access to the relevant information in an easily understood format, Managers can make the right business decisions needed to improve their team and their team’s productivity.
