Remote Working continues to be a popular option for many employees. Even though some organizations have moved away from fully remote working, many employees are still allowed to remote work a certain number of days per week, or month, or on an occasional basis. With allowing more sporadic hybrid remote work, employees are having to change their request more frequently, so we have enhanced the Remote Work Request in Image 48 to allow for these request.

Prior to Image 48, the employee and the manager could not add a new request if the current End Date had not been reached. While the Administrator has had the ability to edit the end date, many of you requested full self-service capability for the employee and manager.

We have enhanced the Remote Worker Request so that the employee or manager can now enter a new request no matter the end date. In my example Colin has been asked to come back into the office a minimum of 3 days a week. The end date of his current row is in the future.

When Colin adds his new request, with a start date of 01/01/2024, he receives a warning message to let him know that he has an overlapping request and that the current end date will be modified to the day before his new requested start date. Since this is just a warning, he can select OK and continue through the steps of the process.

If approvals are turned on the update to the current end date will not occur until the request is approved.  The Manager will see a message on the approval page to alert them of the change.

Once the request is approved the new dates will show on the Remote Worker Request page.
