Legislative Update for PeopleSoft HCM Global Payroll Australia - 2023-24 Budget

The Government of Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland announced the 2023-24 budget. Details of proposal are as follows;

Tasmania- The payroll tax rebate scheme that provide relief to businesses that employ apprentices, trainees and youth employees, has been extended to 30 June 2024 by the Government. The tax free threshold for payroll has been increased, However, no details regarding the new threshold have been disclosed yet

Queensland - The Government has announced an extension of the payroll tax discount for regional employers for an additional seven years, now extended until 30 June 2030, also announced an extension of the payroll tax rebate for wages paid to apprentices and trainees for 12 months, ending 30 June 2024

South Australia – Budget not introduced any new taxes
