PeopleSoft HCM Image 35 is now generally available. This image has a little bit for everyone, including features requested by our customers that provide some finishing touches on major features already available. Let's take a closer look at a few features.
By leveraging a new Fluid-based design and the PeopleSoft WorkCenter Framework, your timekeepers now have a modern, one-stop component in PeopleSoft for accessing relevant links, reports, queries, approvals, exceptions, and processes critical to managing time entry-to-pay for your organization. This feature was designed from the timekeeper's point of view and is an example of an overall initiative to focus on optimizing navigation and clicks, minimizing data errors, and improving productivity for PeopleSoft power users.
You may recall that there is already a classic version of the T&L WorkCenter available in PeopleSoft today. This new Fluid T&L WorkCenter is easier to use, Fluid-based, and replaces the classic version.
The U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) has updated the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability form 503 for use with both job applicants and current employees. These updates were made available earlier through a PeopleSoft Release Patch, but are also included in Image 35. Note that there may be some technical pre-requisites when you deploy this new form so be sure to give yourself extra time to get this form into production before DoL’s August deadline.
Within the PeopleSoft Benefits Life Events activity guide, you will now see a Fluid version of the new birth and new adoption step. Also included is a configurable notification alert and email that will be sent to Benefits Administrators -including whether or not birth/adoption proof from the employee is required.
PeopleSoft customers and partners are raving about the newly configurable, redesigned Benefits Open Enrollment activity guide to allow their employees to enroll or change benefits elections during annual open enrollment. Image 35 provides a customer requested option for employees to view a personalized, detailed statement of their submitted enrollments.
PeopleSoft Recruiting Solutions customers may leverage the PeopleSoft Acknowledgement Framework to allow applicants to accept the Terms and Conditions specified by organizations when candidates apply for jobs. This enhancement allows applicants to view the details of their current and previous acknowledgments for each job application.
Customers deploying chatbots using the PeopleSoft Chatbot Integration Framework and Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) will now have texting available as a new user channel and an updated Web SDK that provides an enhanced design for the chat user interface. Check out this video to see a cool example of how texting works with chatbots for PeopleSoft Company Directory.
The PeopleSoft team views chatbots as an area for growth to help customers meet the expectations of their employees and tap into a segment of their workforce that prefers to engage with HR through self-service and chat/text experiences. We are currently making plans to deliver more applications for chatbots to complement chatbots that our customers and partners develop themselves with ODA.
Personal Details was one of the first self-service HCM components made available using the Fluid user interface. All of the personal information for an employee such as Addresses, Phone Numbers, Emergency Contacts, etc. were available in a single, Fluid navigation collection. As shown in the diagram below, Personal Details is now a visually aesthetic dashboard with new icons and dynamic data available on the tiles. Employees have direct access to each individual item through a tile. For example, from the dashboard, employees may see when their marital status or main address was last updated or how many emergency contacts they have on file without having to go into those pages. There is also now an action required message for employees that have not completed their USCIS Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form.
Note that this dashboard - initially made available in Image 34 - replaces the Fluid Personal Details navigation collection.
You may have noticed that the extent of the features delivered in Image 35 is a little lighter than usual. That is mostly because we wanted to create a longer runway to accommodate the big plans we have for upcoming images to include major features such as Job Data Modernization, Fluid Search Match & Compare, additional chatbots, additional Kibana Analytics, Fluid Health & Safety for Administrators and Employee Self-service, among others.
I am happy to share that we are making significant progress with the development of the first phase of the Job Data Modernization feature. Since the Job Data component is used by all PeopleSoft customers running HR, we want to ensure that you are prepared to uptake this feature as soon as you are able. I encourage all of you to view this blog post that highlights what you can expect with Job Data Modernization including the features, benefits, configurable options, and a checklist to help you prepare.
