You might be wondering, what is Kibana?  Kibana is powerful, visual, open source analytic tool by Elasticsearch – which uses Elasticsearch indexes as the data source.  The good news is Kibana is include with your PeopleSoft license, so there is no additional fee to use Kibana analytics.  To learn more about Kibana – check out the PeopleSoft HCM Kibana Video Feature Overview.

In HCM Image 34, we delivered two HR Kibana analytics – Workforce Equity and Workforce Composition

Navigation: Workforce Administration dashboard > Workforce Insight

Many states and countries have passed legislation similar to California’s Equal Pay Act –  which prohibits an employer from paying any of its employees wage rates that are less than what it pays employees of the opposite sex, or of another race, or of another ethnicity for substantially similar work, when viewed as a composite of skill, effort, and responsibility, and performed under similar working conditions.

The Workforce Equity analytic allows you to view and analyze:

  • Employees by Ethnic Group
  • Employees by Gender
  • Compa-Ratio by Age and Gender
  • Compa-Ratio by Department
  • Employees by Job Code
  • Employee Distribution by Country
  • Employee Details
You can easily add additional search criteria using the ‘Add Filter’ option like job code or department.

The Workforce Equity analytic can help ensure employees are being paid fairly – you are able to compare salaries of employees in the same job code along with other criteria like age, gender and ethnicity.  In this example, the employees are working in the California location and in the same job code – data entry operator.   You can easily visually see if any employees are being paid less than other employees for similar work and investigate why (and take corrective action if needed).

If you are not sure how to deploy the delivered Kibana HR Analytics – follow the steps found in this link.
