Oracle has launched a revolutionary new suite of applications to help the CFO drive enterprise profitability with timely well-informed decisions. The PeopleSoft In-Memory Real-Time Bottom Line suite is initially focused on PeopleSoft In-Memory Financial Position Analyzer and PeopleSoft In-Memory Financial Allocations Analyzer.

The Executive Suite and every management level demand constant information on the health of the financial position while expecting Finance to continue tracking daily activities, supporting the period close and automating regulatory and control imperatives. ERP automation has made it possible to provide a more comprehensive view of where the business is at today. In today’s economy and global reach, the CFO’s office needs much more than this. They need to easily and quickly evaluate the effect of the ever changing market trends, business conditions and organization directives.

PeopleSoft In-Memory Financial Allocations Analyzer allows Finance to simulate additions or changes to large and complex allocation rules that support business activities such as a reorganization of sales, an implementation of a merger or acquisition or a shift of costs and revenues for products, services or capital or IT projects. The executive suite can now truly uncover potential risks and make business course changes as necessary.

Both solutions allow Finance to share real time result comparisons with business stakeholders and make faster decisions that can greatly improve the bottom line in the same financial period. Finance also gains efficiencies by automatically applying configuration changes, such as ‘what if’ reorganizations, from memory to production.

The applications are engineered for Oracle Exadata and SPARC SuperCluster to allow organizations to simulate the financial position in-memory with capabilities like Flash Cache, Smart Scan and InfiniBand to dramatically increase the speed of processing and communication between production and the simulation space.

10 Innovations in PeopleSoft 9.2 - #5 Optimizing Liquidity with PeopleSoft Cash Management 9.2

Liquidity is the holy grail of cash management. Optimizing liquidity is a daily challenge for Cash managers. They have to maintain that delicate balance between having enough cash to make their payments without having too much cash sitting idle in low interest vehicles. PeopleSoft Cash Management 9.2 delivers the much improved Cash Positioning and Forecasting tool to help address this challenge.

Residing in the enterprise makes it really easy for the Cash Position Worksheet to gather transactional data from the entire enterprise. PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses and Mobile Approvals now available in FSCM 9.1

PeopleSoft Mobile Expenses provides the ability to enter employee expense reports quickly and easily, for busy travelers on the go. The contemporary, streamlined user interface is optimized for mobile devices (that support HTML 5), such as tablets or smartphones, and provides a simple-to-use tool for capturing expenses as they are being incurred, submitting expense reports while waiting at the airport, approving your employees’ expense reports, and more. And since it is part of the PeopleSoft Mobile Applications suite, you don’t have to wait until you return home or to the office, which can lead to improved efficiencies.

The user interface and gesture actions (for example, swipe, touch, and so on) will be immediately familiar to mobile device users, and is specifically targeted to keep the experience as streamlined as possible for just the tasks you need to get to while on the go. PeopleSoft Global Payroll integrates with PeopleSoft Cash Management for European Payments

PeopleSoft announces the much awaited union of two of its very popular products :

Financial Gateway

and

Global Payroll

To comply with the new Euro zone payments requirements and allow customers to leverage the value of a singular payments platform, PeopleSoft Global Payroll leverages the Financial Gateway, which is part of the Cash Management product within the PeopleSoft Financials suite.

The Financial Gateway is a robust and flexible payment hub that manages large volumes of payments, in several formats. One of the supported formats is the SEPA Credit Transfer. This solution will make SEPA implementation, compliance and maintenance easier over time, as more Euro zone payments will transition to SEPA rules in the future.

The SEPA (Single European Payment Area) project is an additional step in the construction of a unified European market, following the creation of the Euro Zone in 1999.The goal is to standardize the payment format used in cross border payments. This provides flexibility, security and reduced costs as well as enabling increased trade and investments in the SEPA area. The SEPA format was introduced in 2008 and will become mandatory for any Euro credit transfer from 2012 onwards. Direct Debit payment messages have also been introduced and will become mandatory in the coming years.

In order to reduce current and future SEPA changes impact on payroll processing, Oracle has fully leveraged the existing Financial Gateway capabilities to generate payment files and manage interactions with banks, while minimal changes have been implemented in the PeopleSoft Global Payroll product to prepare those payments.

The first SEPA update delivered by Oracle enables customers to manage:

  • Credit Transfers
  • in Euros
  • complying with general SEPA formatting and rules

The PeopleSoft Global Payroll product has been integrated with the Cash Management module from the PeopleSoft Financials Suite through PeopleTools Integration Broker 8.51.The PeopleSoft Global Payroll Core banking process prepares all the payment data, while the Financial Gateway feature from the Cash Management product will:

  • Format the payment data based on country Setup
  • Produce the SEPA payment file
  • Interact with the banks to provide for bi-directional, real time communication (send the payment file and receive the response from banks)
  • Send acknowledgements back to Global Payroll

It is critical to provide audit support in any payment process. To support that effort, the integration between Global Payroll and the Financial Gateway provides the following:

  • A delivered report can be run from PeopleSoft Global Payroll for data validation before publishing data to Financial Gateway.
  • Payment statuses and errors are sent back from Financial Gateway to PeopleSoft Global Payroll, and can be viewed through a new page in a Global Payroll component.
