My Daughter

In the proud parent department, my lovely daughter is a senior at the University of Texas and is now an intern for Burnt Orange Productions. She was recently quoted in the Daily Texan:

"Dot" is the first of three movies to be produced by Burnt Orange Productions LLC, the film studio created by The University of Texas Film Institute. It will employ more than 20 students from across the University with the aim of giving them hands-on, real-world experience in commercial filmmaking. ...

The cast includes Edie Falco of "The Sopranos," Camilla Belle of "Back to the Secret Garden" and Elisha Cuthbert of the show "24." ...

Organizers expect the film to be shot in 22 days, and approximately 22 UT students will be involved on the project, said Erin Geisler, a College of Communication spokeswoman. ...

For Ashley Rogers, a public relations senior, the chance to work on the filming of "Dot" is her first internship and experience on a professional project. All the interns are unpaid but receive academic credit for their work.

"It's a great opportunity to work with real professionals in the entertainment industry," Rogers said. "When we start filming, I will get to go on set and do interviews with the cast and crew - splitting some of that time with another PR intern. It's a pretty fast-paced environment, and there's always something new to do everyday that's popped up."

That's my baby!!!
