New code completion for Entity class in NetBeans

The new preview release of the NetBeans 5.5 will be released very soon. This new version is focused on support for Java EE5 especially. This changes require new features in code completion as well. We plan to support code completion for almost all annotations for persistance. For instance, you will be able to see tables that are in database that is specified in persistence file and the connection is registered in NetBeans. See snapshot:
The latest builds of NetBeans 5.5 with JavaEE5 support you can download from www.netbeans.org pages. There, click Downloads link and Development Builds of Upcoming Releases. On next page select Java EE 5 item for release version.
Comments:

keep carrying on simplifying and automating programming processes for db access, crud operations, finally data binding.
If you provide easy to use CRUD objects (crud toolbar with managed buttons for eg).
IF you provide high level binding framework (such as freezing linked ui objects when a CRUD operation is performed for eg.)
Java will start becoming pretty sexy in the desktop. ;))

Another question, you talk about Netbeans 5.5, in the Netbeans download area, i only find downloads for 5.1 and 6.0.
Is the Netbeans team calling it 6.0 ?

Hi sse, the support for CRUD is good idea. We already implemented CRUD support in web tier. It means you can create Entity class and pages for create/update/delete are created for you by IDE. According to naming. The next release of Netbenas will be Netbeans 5.5, you should look for NetBeans JavaEE5 builds. NetBeans 6.0 is a release that will be after 5.5.
