New Record for Infosys Finacle on Oracle SuperCluster M7

Today Infosys Finacle announced that its Finacle Core Banking Solution running on an Oracle SuperCluster M7 has set a new record for the number of banking transactions processed. In the test, which was observed and reviewed by the global advisory firm Ernst & Young, the solution supported more than 2.0 billion bank accounts with near linear scalability. The tests were conducted across a mix of delivery channel transactions that could originate from branches, ATMs, online and mobile channels. The test was simulated on the Finacle database of more than 65 terabytes having more than 210,026 branches.

Finacle processed 279 million business transactions per hour (i.e. 446.76 million effective transactions per hour) which is equivalent to more than 77,000 business transactions per second (i.e. more than 124,000 effective transactions per second), to manage workloads comprising customer touch points across delivery channels and third-party systems.

Temenos T24 Optimized for Oracle SuperCluster

Earlier this year Temenos, a market leader for banking software, optimized their integrated Wealth Management Platform: Temenos WealthManager,  on Oracle SuperCluster. See blog for details. Now they have optimized their flagship product T24 on it.

    • Exalogic  Elastic Cloud software
    • Exadata Storage Rack : 9 Storage Cell
  • Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 11GR2
  • Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (Advanced Security)
  • Weblogic Enterprise Edition 11G

Lower TCO, Maximum Performance and Reliability

This solution at a customer deployment provided savings of close to $5.6 million over 5 years with lower TCO and much higher availability. Storing the Temenos core banking data on SuperCluster storage cells costs 50% less than before.

OpenWay Optimized on Oracle SuperCluster

OpenWay Group is a payment processing software vendor headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. OpenWay’s WAY4 Card Issuing and Merchant Acquiring, Financial Switching, Personalized Mobile Payments, Mobile Wallet and other payment solutions successfully operate at 130 banks, processing and telecom companies in Europe, Asia, North and Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. WAY4 is a customer-centric rule-driven environment for debit, credit, prepaid and commercial cards, deposits, loans, current accounts, mobile money and other financial products, for targeted marketing campaigns and personalized self-service via ATMs, kiosks, POS terminals, web, mobile banking and other channels.

Recently OpenWay completed Oracle SuperCluster Optimized testing and certification. They had the following goals:
  • Prove that the SuperCluster T5  solution performance meets and exceeds the results of a similarly scaled platform with traditional storage on volumes of up to 10 Million cards
  • Demonstrate a configuration as close as possible to real life conditions: a complex credit card configuration and a long transaction history, high availability for authorizations, PCI DSS, as well as simulation of long distance between two sites.
  • Measure the results in terms of TPS, response time and scalability

The tests were conducted on an Oracle T5 SuperCluster with:

  • WAY4 CMS and Switch v03.40
  • Oracle Database 11g, Release 2
  • Oracle Database, Real Application Clusters
  • Oracle Database, Advanced Security and Partitioning Options
  • Oracle Solaris 11

Results demonstrated a 2x shorter average response time compared to a similarly scaled platform with traditional storage and great scalability on TPS and response time when adding more CPUs. The data encryption as per PA-DSS standards also resulted in only 5% performance overhead.

Record Performance and Seamless Scalability in Core Banking with Infosys Finacle and Oracle SuperCluster

Demonstrating extraordinary performance and scalability, an Infosys Finacle core banking solution version 10.2.13, running on an Oracle SuperCluster T5-8 system recently set a new global benchmark for the number of transactions processed across key banking functions. In a test that was audited and reviewed by a global business consulting and audit firm, the solution supported more than 1.9 billion bank accounts with near linear scalability. The test also saw Infosys Finacle processing 726 million effective transactions in four hours, or more than 50,000 average transactions per second. Siemens Teamcenter Optimized with Oracle SuperCluster

Siemens PLM Software is a world-leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software, systems and services. It has over nine million licensed seats and 77,000 customers worldwide. Siemens’ Teamcenter is one of the world's most widely used digital lifecycle management software.

Recently Siemens achieved Oracle SuperCluster Optimized status after testing and tuning Teamcenter 10.1 on Oracle SuperCluster with Oracle Solaris 11, Oracle WebLogic Server 12c, Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle Database RAC.

Siemens wanted to define an integrated architecture that would address PLM requirements for large Automotive, Aerospace, and other manufacturing companies and provide scalability to support the anticipated growth of number of users without any degradation in the performance characteristics.
