ORACLE EMEA ALLIANCES & CHANNELS:
INTRODUCTION AND OUTLOOK
Senior Vice President, Alliances and Channels,
On 9th September I was very pleased to take the opportunity to lead Oracle EMEA Alliances & Channels.
I would like to thank Stein Surlien for his work in growing a dynamic, successful business, where partners are already contributing 60% towards Oracle's revenue. This is a great starting point, and here I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and outline my initial thoughts for the year ahead.
I have worked in Oracle for over 13 years leading growth and change in a number of key roles, including EMEA HR Applications, Consulting Sales, Technology Sales, as the country leader of Oracle Ireland and, most recently, as SVP of Hardware Sales. I feel that my experience of sales leadership across the organisation puts me in an ideal position to lead the continued success of Oracle's indirect and co-sell business in EMEA.
I know partners are looking to us to deliver consistent propositions across our Lines of Businesses, and alignment across the organisation will be a key objective for me. Reflecting that, our goal is to ensure that both hardware and software opportunities are explored in every piece of business we engage in.
Whether you are a VAD, VAR, ISV, or SI, I intend to ensure you are entirely equipped to give the full red stack positioning in front of all your customers. I want to make sure that all CIOs in all our customers fully understand our value proposition. Why would an Oracle Database be deployed on anything but an Oracle engineered platform? It makes total sense and it's something we should all be asking.
I can't stress enough the importance of the Oracle Database Appliance , launched on 21st September. It is the first Oracle product designed specifically for the channel, and it enables us to compete strongly on cost, high availability and volume. I urge you to use your VAD and Oracle resources to find out everything about it and make the most of this solution as soon as possible!
Oracle OpenWorld is almost upon us and I am looking forward to meeting as many partners as possible there, in particular the EMEA Partner Advisory Board, and congratulating the winners of the EMEA Partner Specialization Awards. I invite any partner who hasn't yet registered for the event to book your place and come and immerse yourself in the Oracle buzz!
To find out about all the initiatives and resources available to you from Oracle, I recommend you check our new EMEA Partner News Blog , which provides you with targeted news in five languages.
I will do my utmost to ensure we continue to grow a profitable partnership together, and I look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks.
