Changing the Planning Language
By Keith Rosenthal on Aug 24, 2012
If Essbase is set to a language other than English, the language should be changed in Planning to improve the stability of the Planning JVM during periods of heavy usage. In order to change the Planning language, open the setCustomParamsPlanning.bat (Windows) or SetCustomParamsPlanning.sh (Unix) located in the MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/epmsystem1/bin folder. The following is an example of the statements to add when the Essbase language is set to Traditional Chinese:
“ESSLANG”="TraditionalChinese_Taiwan.EUC-TW@Binary"; export ESSLANG
Windows installations will also need to add the JVM parameter to the Windows registry. Assuming Planning was installed using the default settings, the JVM parameter would be added under the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\Planning0\HyS9Planning location.
