Mark Your Calendar - OTN Lounge Oracle OpenWorld Activity Schedule

As I mentioned in my last post the OTN Lounge Oracle OpenWorld will be in a NEW location in Moscone South Lobby right next to registration.  Along with a new space the OTN team is bringing you NEW activities i.e. developer challenges, intallfests etc.  See below for a full list of activities with more info and timing that will be in the OTN Lounge @ Oracle OpenWorld in a few weeks-

  • OTN  Kick Off – Sunday 9/22 3:00pm - 5:00pm
    Get a preview of the various activities happening in the OTN Lounge during Oracle OpenWorld, then follow us to a "secret" location for for discussion and refreshments.
  • OTN Meetup – Tuedsay 9/24 4:30pm - 5:30pm
    Join OTN Community Managers and team members, Oracle Product Managers, and community members to meet and mingle. Be sure to mention the special code word ("I love OTN") at the OTN Lounge info desk to receive your free gift (you'll need that gift for access to the refreshments).
  • Meet the Oracle ADF Team – Wednesday 9/24  2:00pm - 3:00pm
    Meet with the Oracle ADF community peers, network with product managers, get to know Oracle ACEs who specialize in Oracle ADF. We'll also have free give-aways (while supplies last).
  • New Addition - SPATIAL AND GRAPH SIG MEETUPS – Wednesday Sept 24th  - 2pm to 3pm
    Meet the board of the Oracle Spatial and Graph Special Interest Group, and network with other Oracle Spatial and Graph and FMW MapViewer users. Oracle product managers will also be on hand to listen to your product feedback and answer questions.  RDF Graph users can also meet the product developers and other users.  Share your questions and experiences around Oracle Spatial and Graph for social network, semantic, and linked data applications.
  • RAC Attack – Tuesday / Wednesday 9/24-25 10:00am – 2:00pm
    • Install Oracle 12c RAC on your laptop to have a training hands on environment
    • Answers Oracle 12c RAC related questions
    • Install Oracle 12c Single Node instance
    • Ninjas will explain how to install it at home
    • Come along and network with community experts
  • 12c Pluggable DB/App on Stick Installfest – Monday and Tuesday 9/23-24 10:00am - 11:00am 
    Discover for yourself what's hot about the multitenant support in Oracle 12c. You'll receive a Pluggable Database that contains a full set of Oracle Database Sample Schemas plus Oracle Application Express (APEX) pre-configured with an APEX Demo app and a Simple Sales Forecasting app.
  • APEX Developer Challenge  -  Begins Monday 9/23 3:00pm
    The OTN Application Express Developer Challenge 2013 is designed to highlight how quick and easy it is to build a mobile solution using Oracle Application Express. Challenge commences at 3pm Monday September 23rd.  For more information and rules please visit - http://apex.oracle.com/oow.
  • Fusion Developer Challenge  - Begins Sunday 9/22 5:00pm - learn more or register now and rules can be seen here.  The Oracle Fusion Cloud Developer Challenge invites members of the Oracle community to demonstrate how Oracle Fusion Applications and the Oracle Cloud can be customized, extended and integrated.  The Challenge begins on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 5:00 PM and ends on Wednesday 9/25 at Noon. Other times to note: 
    • Monday 9/23  Office Hours 1:00pm - 3:00pm
    • Tuesday 9/24 Office Hours Noon to 1:30pm
    • Wednesday 9/25 Office Hours 10:00am - 11:00am / Judging 4:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Java Embedded – Designing and Developing for the Internet of Things (IoT) - Using M2M technologies to collect data, in this case the number of people, attendees and traffic flows, and the analysis and management of the acquired data, demonstrates how the Internet of Things concept can be extended to a wide variety of market segments and applications, and how Java can be used in each piece of the solution from the device to the data center in Oracle’s Internet of Things platform.

  • NEW Addition Robots Meet Enterprise Simplicity:  See What Robots Can do With Oracle's New Simplified UI  - Oracle's ever-creative AppsLab team has been tinkering with both our new Simplified UI and with Robots.  So what does it look like when you bring these two things together? Come find out for yourself Tuesday, September 24th 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

    With Oracle OpenWorld 2013 in San Francisco on the horizon you may have already seen some mention of the Oracle Excellence Awards. But do you know what these awards are all about?
